The 1st Hong Kong Cyclothon successfully completed in 2015 with more than 3 thousand cyclist participated. This year, it comes back on 25th September with bigger scale, more routes and more participants. Cityplus is honored to be the exclusive bike rack sponsor again for Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon 2016.

Bike parking in Hong Kong is a challenging task to Government Departments, property management companies and others who support bike-friendly development. PolyU Design School is ranked 1st in Asia by Subject 2016 – Art & Design, it raises up thousands of talents to bring significant contribution to the societies. Cityplus Street Furniture collaborated with Furniture Design Course of PolyU Design in the 2015/16 semester. Under the topic of “Bridging people’s body, soul and environment”, students explore the interaction between peoples, activity, environment and furniture, and also find out the possibility of innovation in furniture design through research, idea development and prototyping. With three decades of experience in manufacturing street furniture, we provide continuous engineering advice and technical support to the students. We granted Cityplus Street Furniture Creative Award and total HKD18,000 scholarship to 5 outstanding students, and sponsored the fabrication of 3 prototypes. These works are being exhibited in PolyU Design Annual Show 2016 from 11th June to 23 July.

"i was looking for some of the untapped public area and try to design a public facilities to ensure that more valuable public area can be used. This is very important for Hong Kong which is in terms of scarcity of land..." Student from PolyU Design tried to re-think the purpose of fence in public area and transform the fence into two different functions (definition) : limiting access (isolation) and providing seat (interaction).

"Fence is originally designed to stop citizens. In the park, the fence stops citizens enjoy the green area. However it is a waste of space as the green area is only for view. Loosen allows citizens to be in the green space and provides more space to the park without disturbing the green area that needs protection."
